Care Instructions

Best way to care for your precious Elodie pieces

Sterling Silver:

No No TARNISH, stay away!

Natural oils, sunscreen, and oxygen will naturally tarnish your jewellery over time. Sterling silver will tarnishes faster in areas with high humidity (hello, beach babes!) so store your jewellery clean in an air tight plastic bag when you are not wearing it.

Keep your Elodie pieces grime-free as much as possible, but when the occasional sun lotion gets in there or when natural tarnish occurs, you can...

- Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm water and dip in a soft cloth. Rub the jewellery, then rinse in cool water, and buff with a cloth until dry.

To keep away tarnish, wear your Elodie piece a lot (yes, friction slows down tarnishing!) and store them in an air tight bag on their day off.

Gold plated jewellery:

It's best to take off before entering any body of water, such as a pool, ocean, pond, lake, shower... you get the point.  In the case that you do wear it, the best way to clean your favourite piece is to:

Stay away from jewellery cleaners and antibacterial soaps which may tarnish your pieces prematurely. Instead, a combination of basic soap and warm water can be used to soak plated pieces for a few minutes then patted dry with a soft cloth can help restore shine!
